Child of the sky, why do you wander, what do you seek? The words drifted through the folds of her mind, the sparks of an impulse that they created vibrated down her nerves to bring the living creature to attention and recognition of this thought. She did not yield an answer to the inquisition that was posed from within, for she was yet to have one. In supposition, most intelligent creatures would spend the majority of their days determining what their purpose would be. Perhaps she was following this common trail in a personal pursuit, but her path remained unguided. How she had resulted in coming to where she was now was a coincidence more so than it was purposeful. Yet, this kingdom seemed well enough. This place, it was enthralling, considering it’s alluring novelty and that it was scarcely inhabited. It was as if it were a place that still remained mostly untouched, a generous offering of the mother earth to provide them with a place that still retained so much innocence. It had not yet had the chance to be ravaged, ruined by those who sought to take advantage of it. She had wandered here some days ago, and due to the draw she felt for this place she still remained. She had yet to encounter another soul, although she had seen indication that others roamed. This mattered not, for time to herself she often considered valuable. What with the stillness of the lands and the quiet it provided, she rather felt at peace for now, although something within her was under the impression that this would not last for much longer.
The day was slowly drifting away from her sights, the azure above transitioning from the warmer tones to a dominating dark. She stood apart from the part of the lands which she considered to be it’s heart, a structure built of interlocking stones fashioned to form a large enclosure. She had steered clear of that area for the time being, much preferring that which she considered to be more natural, and that was the open pasture which lay at it’s side. The terra provided with the most lush of greenery, and so she was taking a simple moment in order to indulge herself in the pleasure of tasting this grass. Her own bodice matched the scene above, for the tones of her slender bodice transitioned smoothly from the warm hues of a sunrise to the dark of midnight. Two lengthy horns sprout proudly from beneath her forelock, and she drew them through the blades of emerald, entangling the greenery within the ivory tassels which cascaded towards the terrain. The shifting grass made a pleasant sound, a soft chord that was rather soothing. She allowed a soft sigh to escape her velveteen kissers, taking a brief moment to enjoy the simple pleasure, and the quiet that surrounded her for as long as it would provided. However, while she revelled within the quiet that was offered, truth was that the young mare had been alone for quite some time now. It had been seasons since she had left her previous home, the one that had had everything that was familiar to her, and everything that she had ever understood within it. Yet she was not unhappy that she had transitioned away from this childhood home, for while there had been joy, there also had been sorrow. She was grateful to have the chance to be on her own, to see what else life had to offer for the loyal mare. However, to no surprise the journey to reach this place had been a long and lonely one. Certainly, she would be quite content to encounter another soul, so long as it was a meeting of the proper sort (and by that, she meant that she did not wish to meet a character of a rude or demanding demeanour that would leave a sour taste in her mouth). But she supposed that in a circumstance such as this, she most likely could not be choosy about who approached her, considering there seemed to be very few equines here to begin with. And so, raising her crown slightly and in a fluid motion, her navy gaze wandered the terrain, following it's shapes as she sought out any other soul who might have ventured here that evening. Not immediately setting her sights upon any, she let out a gentle whicker to alert whoever was in the vicinity of her presence.

⌘ CINDER ⌘ And I don't have the heart that you think I do I think you're in love with the pain you feel
It had taken some time for him to return to Asteria. The encounters he'd come across left strange feelings settling within him. Cinder had not let onto his feelings towards the interactions he had. He didn't think he would. Cinder heaved a sigh that puffed out into the still cold temperatures of spring evenings. He was glad to be home, the home he really wanted to be in. Cinder was content to peer up into the night sky where stars were flickering brightly behind hardly visible clouds. They drifted so aimlessly, careless. He felt a pang of jealousy as he watched them drift. He wished life were as careless, and weightless as the drifting clouds. A soft whicker stirred him back to the present. Cinder's silver gaze fell from the twinkling lights. An equally cosmic coloured mare drifted into his line of vision. He remained quiet for a few moments, allowing the pair to study one another.
Her soft features that faded into darkness forced him to keep his gaze on her. The way she had called out, stirred something within himself too. Cinder could feel the loneliness, the ache for real conversation with someone alike him. Respected, and in awe of the raw beauty of the world. Not those held in others, but simply in nature. Cinder gave a faint nod to her finally, satisfied he would remember her appearance should they ever cross paths again. "Evening." He spoke softly, a weariness clear in his demeanor. Cinder remained guarded in her presence.
Cinder noted that he easily peered down at her, and nearly glanced back at himself. There was a significant difference in height and build. She was dainty compared to his tall frame. Cinder inhaled the cooling air, savouring the burn he felt in his throat and lungs as it settled. "Do you need help with something?" Cinder asked finally, curious about her sudden callings. It hardly seemed wise, though it also hardly seemed the time to be anything but himself. He drew his head upwards slightly at another internal realization. Asteria was not barbaric, not full of untrustworthy swine. Still he felt wary of her presence, even though he could easily defend himself. It was the verbal lashings that he craved to avoid.
"I go by Cinder." The bay introduced himself to her finally. Something about the way so many others just gave their names away troubled him. Turbulent thoughts to keep him up at night. Hoping to keep his name out of the wrong mouths.

She was sort of grateful when someone attended to her summoning, despite her wariness of the stranger. The being who approached her was her opposite, for where she reflected the sky above, he took the tones of the earth beneath their hooves. It was a stretch for her to regard him, as her navy voids had to look up several hands in order to meet his silver pools. She was also rather appreciative that he kept his distance. He truly had nothing to worry in regards to her, for she was just a plain being, one who was no master in terms of threatening or dominating behaviour. Even if she did desire to practice such a role, she would have to be quite skilled in order to make up for the small stature that she possessed, especially against an opponent who had such size upon her. Thankfully, she did not see this approacher as any kind of opponent, at least so long as he did not wish to see her as one either. ”Evening.” Was the handsome word that she was offered in his deep tones, and Asavva dipped her dial in the slightest in response, her slender horns pointing towards him only a moment in a fashion of courtesy, before she told him in her own lyrical way, ”Good eve, m’lord.” Asavva was slightly old fashioned in the way that she spoke, and she regarded most males as lords, which was something that equines these days were often unaccustomed to hearing. Nevertheless, it was her way of offering him respect.
He stood quietly for a moment in her presence, and she wondered as to whether or not he was unsure of how to continue on a conversation with her, considering they had only just met and she was failing to make it clear as to why she had called out. ”Do you need help with something?” He asked, to which she shrugged her slender shoulders. ”Not so, I rather desired to simply see what kind of equines inhabited this terrain. Do you live in this grand place?” She inquired of him, and her chasms briefly flickered away from his frame in order to outline the surroundings, particular attention being given to the stonework structure that towered some distance away. It seemed, at least in her opinion, as a strange and unnatural place to habituate, but she supposed it was also rather regal in a sense. Her attention returned to him with the slightest movement in her crania, just in time to meet his gaze once more as he offered her his name. ”I go by Cinder.” He revealed to her finally, and a soft smile creeped its way upon her features when the name registered in her mind. ”And my name is Asavva. It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance.” Her words were formal, considering how he had kept his distance from her, the pair still not having broken the barrier of trusting that they were not about to turn uncivil with one another.
