Doubt sees a mountain, no way around it Faith sees a victory, no doubt about it Hello! I'm sure most of you have seen me around the chat box or boards, but if you haven't let me introduce myself. My alias is Benjio, however if you prefer it you may call me by my real name which is Taryn. I am 21 years old, and I've been a Nursing Assistant for the past 4 years. In December 2013 I got a job in the float pool at our hospital here in my town and in December 2014 I transferred to the ICU department to become a monitor tech & unit clerk! I've been doing it for about a year now, and I love it! I'm planning on going to University starting this fall to start the process of becoming a nurse!
I started role playing when I was in 5th grade because a friend wanted me to join her warrior car role play, which I had never read any of the books before, but she explained it to me, which of course I started reading the books because of the role play. Even though that role play died out, I joined other warrior cat themed ones, and soon found my way to canine and equines! I have found that I enjoy role playing equines much more then felines or canines, however I still do it every so often. So lets see, I've been role playing for close to 8 years now!
As for my relationship status, I am single and I have absolutely no problem with it. Sure I get lonely at times, but that's why I have friends and family. When the right guy comes along, I'll jump and hope he catches me, but for now, its me and me alone!
Fear sees a ceiling, hope sees the stars Love be the light inside of our hearts

History: Have you ever asked the question, "What makes a serial killer.. kill?" she had. Pump the brakes for a moment, Paradox is not a serial killer - she simply just has the makings of one.
Every horse grows up in a different situation, every horse has their very own story. Not one is the same, likewise, every horse has a tragedy, a hidden secret, a point in their life where they know something has to change. Paradox is no different. She doesn't have the fairytale story, well it started out to be that kind of story, but then like any story, something happened. Something Paradox has hidden so deep inside herself, she doesn't even know if it can emerge again, but then do you really want it to..?
She was a young filly, pretty, happy, and prissy. She was a flirt, played with the boy's emotion, but oddly enough, her parents had expected it of her. She was born to the king and queen of the territory. She was the sought after filly, whom colts and even stallions wanted for their own. Weather to love or to breed or to abuse, no one knew. Paradox knew her family would protect her, so she never gave thought to the "what if" something happened. What if her family wasn't there, what if she couldn't protect herself.. None of those were running through her mind as she grew up in age. Beauty never ceasing to miss a deal of increasing her appearance. By the time she was three years old, she had most likely flirted with every young colt in the herd. She knew deep down, she'd never settle for anyone, she wasn't happy with the horses in the herd. To put it plainly, she enjoyed toying with their emotions. Her parents, like any good ones, ignored what the herd members said about her, she was their prized possession. They wouldn't hear it.
That is the ending of her fairytale. The day came, where everything she knew was taken from her. A stallion who went by the name, Maximus, gather up a band of rouges and attacked the herd. Ripping everything from Paradox. They killed everyone, all but the young and pretty fillies and mares. Paradox was amongst them. The naive mare tried to stay hidden in the shelter of the other mares, however Maximus wasn't fooled. You see, the brute had been wanting her from the first time he tried fighting for the land against her father. Her took Paradox for his own, and let his comrades have the other mares. And that's how they lived, under captivity and cruelty.
However, before you leave, that is not the end of her story. She grew to enjoy the company of the stallion. How could she, you might ask? Its not much different then a abused wife staying with the abusive husband. She in a way, didn't know better, or maybe she herself was becoming darker then even Maximus himself. Within 2 years of their captivity, Paradox was no longer a captive. She was a equal ruler, ruling next to Maximus. Did she love him? No. Could she love him? Possibly. Did she try? No.
She left. She did it during the night, when Maximus was sleeping. She had power over the herd, and none would question her leaving, as she had before, but always returned, part of her plan, you could speculate. But this time she wasn't returning. She didn't take any of her old friends, she wasn't what they remembered she was. She was different. She was evil and power hungry. However, she knew she'd never be able to overtake Maximus and his comrades, so she went out on her own. Leaving everything she knew for the past 4 years behind. Not caring who or what she left behind, and who she hurt. She was different.
Personality: Seductive and charming would be the two words anyone in her past would describe her as. Now, it would be three words. Seductive, charming, and power hungry. She doesn't mind walking over someone to get where she is going. At one time in her life, she was a nice little pony. Now, she is a beautiful manipulative mare. She never lets her emotions stand in her way, in fact some would argue she doesn't have emotions. All she has in the cavity where a heart would be beating is a dark organ, filled with nothing but selfishness. Paradox wouldn't argue.
Life can make some horses better, innocent and loving. While it makes others turn out like Paradox. Who is to say one is better? Life for this mare turned ugly, turned worse then any life should have turned. It also turned Paradox into the mare she is today. She doesn't blame who she is on her life, on her history, simply because she isn't ashamed of who she is. Frankly, she is proud of herself. She doesn't let anything stop her from what she needs to do, she doesn't let her emotions get in the way like some may. Why would she? She hasn't felt the need to, if that changes one day, well lets say this mare may not know how to recover.
Although she seems cold hearted, she does have feelings and emotions. Paradox is a onion. You have to peel her layer by layer, to see her true self. This is a small portion of who she really is. Even then, you may not know what she is telling is true or false. The charm and seductiveness is just the cover up of her insecurities. Name: Nouveau Build: Petite, Arabian Gender: Mare Height: 14.3 Age: Four Coat color: White Markings: - Brown body with caramel brown color fading in and out around her body - White marking on her forehead - Her nose is black that fades into the brown of her coat - She has dark brown stripes on her body, they look like zebra stripes - The stripes fade as they go down her legs and her legs are the same color as the stripes Deformities: None Mane and tail: Off-White, Cream Eyes: Golden Mental disorders (if any): -- Physical disabilities (if any): --
History: Nouveau has always known that life never goes as planned, and that you have to fight for everything you deserve. She was born to a mare named Jean, who cared less about her foal then she cared about herself. Jean was a weak soul who looked for acceptance in all the wrong places. However, her weaknesses proved to be beneficial to her daughter in the long run. Nouveau learned at a young age not to take anything for granted and that she could never rely on the acceptance of others to bring her true happiness.
When Nouveau was 7 months old, her mother and her had been travelling the hills and stumbled across a very unique herd. This herd was highly inspired by religion, and found peace through worship and prayer. Of course, Nouveau’s mother would have none of their nonsense and instantly demanded that they leave at once. But this herd did something for Nouveau that she had never thought possible- they gave her hope. This seemingly empty void that she had always felt, somehow… vanished.
In the short time Nouveau was able to stay with the herd, she knew in her heart what was right. She was done being in this abusive relationship with her mother. Somehow, she knew her future was here. And when she came to her mother, and told her flat out that she wasn’t leaving, her mother put up a fight. But not because her mother truly cared about her, but because she expected Nouveau to do whatever she wanted.
But Nouveau knew all along it was just a show, and that her mother didn’t truly want to take after her any longer. Jean had never wanted a foal, and was more then ready to pass on the responsibility of raising a stubborn filly to someone else. So after the initial fight, Jean finally gave up and left Nouveau. And while Jean had never been the best mom, even she could see that maybe Nouveau would be better off here, than with her.
An elderly mare, by the name of Tipsy instantly looked after Nouveau. Tipsy felt this strong urge to take care of her and give her the life that she deserved. And while Tipsy was, in every sense of the word mother to Nouveau, she was to never call her mother. Tipsy claimed that she was “too young” to be a mother, however, in reality this was just a bluff. In reality, Tipsy was physically too old to be a mother, and only told Nouveau this to make her realize that Tipsy was nothing like her actual mother. Nouveau had no qualms about this rule, because as far as she knew mothers were hostile and hurtful to their own and always put themselves first.
Tipsy taught everything that Nouveau’s mother had never even spoke of. She taught Nouveau that not everything had the worst possible outcome. She taught her to stay positive and always look at the bright side of life. She taught her that love comes in many forms, and to never take advantage of it. She taught her to believe in the almighty God, and that even on her worst days, God was always there for her.
Tipsy not only taught Nouveau important morals and values, but she also took care of her. When she was sick, Tipsy nursed her back to health. When she was sad, Tipsy would lay with her under the stars and sing her songs to make the worrying inside her head ease. When she was angry, Tipsy would take her out for a long run, to blow off some steam. Tipsy was so much more than Nouveau’s mother ever was. Tispy was not only Nouveau’s mentor and best friend, but she was the most important mare in Nouveau's life.
Nouveau was 2 years old when Tipsy passed away. No one really knew how old the mare was, but they knew she was young in spirit. Tispy became their guardian angel, and many believed she watched and looked out for the entire herd. She was an amazing mare, who had such a huge heart and who had changed a young foal’s life for the better.
But unfortunately, after Tipsy passed away, Nouveau just didn’t feel welcome amongst the herd anymore. She felt more excluded then ever- no one ever included her in anything. She felt like Rudolph from the old foal’s tale because no one ever let her play in any of their games. In the past, she had never let it get to her, because she had Tipsy. But now, Nouveau was on her own for the very first time in her life.
Nouveau finally left the heard when she was just shy of three years old. Tipsy had taught her many valuable sayings about life, but one truly stuck out to her and guided her with her new journey, “Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future”. Nouveau began on the long road ahead of her, and knew in her heart that no matter how hard it got, Tipsy would always be there. Not in sight, but in spirit. When she felt frustrated, or upset, she prayed to God and to her guardian angel, and it always made her feel better. She knew she was destined for something great, she just had to go out and fight to make It happen.
Personality: Nouveau is an optimist. She looks at the opportunities in life rather then the struggles, and very rarely does she reflect on the past. If you asked her if the glass was half full or half empty she would tell you that it was half full, of course! She loves to chase her dreams, and in her spare time she enjoys thinking about what she is going to do next in life. She is constantly moving forward, and always has a goal set in mind.
Nouveau is also a romantic. She has a talent for match making others; she can sense their personalities and how well they would go together. Despite her fondness for love, she has always had a hard time believing anyone would ever love her as passionately and truly as she dreams about.
At times, Nouveau can be hard headed. Once she has an idea stuck in her head, it's very hard for her to see reasoning. She's a very matter-of-fact type of horse and enjoys being right. Very rarely does Nouveau ever get proven wrong, but when that does happen she admits she was mistaken. Although, she is hard headed when it comes to things she is passionate about, Nouveau never lets this type of thinking get in the way during a stressful situation. She weighs all the possible actions to resolve the situation, and because of her optimism, usually remains calm and focused.
Growing up for Nouveau was incredibly tough. Her mother was far from great, and was always moving them around all the time, which left Nouveau extremely lonely. She had always wished for a little brother or sister, and sometimes wondered if, because of her mother's frolicking around, that one did exist. However, even if a foal existed out there, it probably would never make itself known due to the hostility that swarmed around her mother.
Eventually, Nouveau's mother abandoned her, and it taught Nouveau many valuable things in the end. It taught her to value her friendships, because she never had that type of connection with anyone when she was little. She learned what to use if she ever got injured and couldn't stop the bleeding, or what to take if her stomach ever cramped. She learned battle strategies and how to defend herself. She strived to teach herself everything she possibly could, about how to survive out there on her own. She became completely self-dependent and never relied on anyone's help but her own.
Many underestimated her, but Nouveau didn't mind. She enjoyed seeing the shock on their face, as she spouted out all the knowledge that she had absorbed over the years. She didn't need her mother to survive; and her mother most definitely did not need her. It took Nouveau awhile to finally realize that, but with the help of Tipsy, she was able to finally see the truth.
When Nouveau was 7 months old, she met Tipsy. Tipsy was a huge inspiration and motivation in her life. Tipsy was always there for Nouveau and always told her the best quotes and sayings to make her feel better. There were two quotes, in particular, that truly struck Nouveau and that she believes strongly in.
The first being, “Maybe it’s not too late to learn how to love and forget how to hate", this quote holds so true for Nouveau because despite her mother's abandonment and her lonely childhood, she needs to learn how to forgive her mother for her mistakes. This quote also inspires her romantic side, because for so long, Nouveau didn't feel worthy of the love that she so desperately craved.
The second quote, and probably the most important one that Tipsy taught her was, “Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future.” This quote gives Nouveau motivation to look forward, and never to dwell on her past. It reminds her that even if she comes from a bad childhood, that doesn't have to shape who she is, and who she will be. Overall, Nouveau has been through a lot, but she knows that with Tipsy by her side, she can do anything she sets her mind too.
