P Y R A She was falling a bit into a routine here. On days like these, when the sky was clear and the sun had just begun to peek over the horizon, she would rise and venture through the bluffs, slowly making her way down to the fields below. Pyra had officially decided to call Halcyon her home not long ago, and as such, was growing quite accustomed to the sights and sounds and smells around her. So she grazed, lazily meandering through the tall blades and lifting her head every so often to scan her surroundings. There were few others in the area, save for a small group of deer who mimicked her in that they, too, were munching on the sweet-tasting grasses for breakfast. The sight brought a smile to her lips. There was so much comfort in understanding how blessed she was to have found a place as serene as this one. From his post on her neck, Aiden released a low trill as if to agree. Luck had been on their side so far. For the better part of the morning, she continued on in this manner, filling her stomach as the sun bathed the fields in golden light. But like a beacon, as soon as it climbed above the bluffs, it signaled for something inside Aiden to stir. The red-tailed hawk grabbed at her mane, his talons sifting through her uneven, straw-like hair. Pyra docked her head, gazing at him from beneath uneven, questioning brows. "Whaaaat?" she sang, her tone resembling mock irritation. He screeched, a light, eager sound, before taking off. "Really?" she asked. "Feeling playful, are you?" She rolled her eyes, grinning at the prospect of having a little fun. She would humor him. Drawing in a breath, she bolted across the fields, an excited nicker escaping from between her lips. Her sudden action put the deer on alert, and a few scattered, tails up in alarm. A rueful blush played across Pyra's cheeks. She nearly thought to apologize, having ruined their peaceful morning, but her companion was so clearly satisfied by her reciprocation that she couldn't bother to worry after her blunder for long. The hawk soared higher, beckoning her to gallop faster after him, and so she did, focusing only on the sensation of the wind as it rushed past her body and through her mane and legs. If only their morning had not been so devoid of fellow equines. If only there were others to join in on the fun.
For Nouveau , but all welcome, especially other Halcyonians! Sorry if it's a little poopy and rambling. I'm still getting back into the swing of role playing, lol.

Enjoying the warmth of spring in the air, Nouveau couldn't help but to relax. Her morning so far had been uneventful to say the least. Other then a few deers coming to graze, and birds chirping their morning song, she hadn't seen or heard any other halcyonians. Letting her lips nibble at the grass as she let her eyes scan the clearing. Nothing. Shrugging her striped shoulders, she lifted her head and breathed in the fresh air. She may not have someone to talk to right now, but she would be a fool to not to be enjoying this peaceful scene right now. Letting her mind drift, she watched as the birds flew from the trees further away from Nouveau. Intrigued, she tilted her head and listened. Squinting her golden eyes, Nouveau watched as deer scattered in the distance. Interesting. Glancing behind her, she judged the distance she was away from the tress. Her comfort shelter. To far. If there was danger, she wouldn;t make it to the trees before whoever was coming would catch a glimpse of her striped flesh. Deciding, against her better judgement, to stay put, she glanced back to the area in front of her. Straining her ears, she picked up the pounding of hooves hitting the ground, moving quickly based on the rhythm. Watching as a bird came soaring into her sight line and then shortly after a red horse galloping towards Nouveau. She had heard of some horses having friends of different species, in fact she had seen one have a canine as a friend, however she had yet been introduced to a bird. Shifting her legs, she watched the the trio came closer. comments// sorry my reply sucks, I've been running short on muse lately! Pyra

P Y R A Aiden was testing her. Certainly, he was young for a hawk, but he was a strong, skilled flyer. Pyra's chest swelled with pride at that fact—and also with another breath as she beckoned her legs to move faster, to work harder, to keep up with her companion. In a swift movement, Aiden tugged his wings open and careened to one side. With another flap, he carried himself higher, and before long he had traversed the tree line, disappearing above the leafy canopy. "That’s cheating!" the mare shouted from her place on the ground, though she was still ever in good spirits. She craned her neck, scanning the copse of trees, knowing full well that even though she was small, she lacked the prowess to weave between trunks to continue chasing the bird. With a shake of her deep, russet head, Pyra slowed her gait to something more akin to a trot, allowing her gaze to settle on the horizon before her again. It was then that she noticed another mare several paces ahead. She moved toward her steadily, and once closer, managed to recognize her. This stranger had been there on the day of the herd gathering, Pyra recalled. She remembered seeing her half-hidden in the shelter of the trees. Well, that much made sense. Pyra could see now that the dark lines dancing across the mare’s pelt were not shadows but rather a myriad of stripes, and she had to admit, they were rather beautiful and entrancing. With a smile, she loped closer. "Good morning," she called. "Apologies if we disturbed you."
Nouveau - No worries! It was good! I can ramble in my posts, so please don’t feel like you have to mirror or anything. I’m good with just having fun. : P

Watching as the mare moved swiftly over the landscape, Nouveau let her eyes roam the mares body. From the looks of if, she was the same height, if not a touch taller then herself. Her body was a orangish-red color, with her legs going darker. Her mane was longer and uneven in places but defiantly had a very odd, but very pretty, copper color and then the ends faded to a lighter color. Very pretty.
As she the mare came closer to her, Nouveau heard her speak. Letting a small smile cross her lips, she waited to reply until she was sure the mare had finished. You didn't disturb me Nouveau said softly, letting the wind carry her words. I was just enjoying the warmth of today, and company is never a bad thing she said sweetly. Her eyes watching the skies for her companion. Settling her eyes back on the mare she tilted her head.
My name is Nouveau, by the way She said in a rush. She always got flustered when she met new horses, even though she craved the companionship they brought, she always feared the rejection she was so used to. However, this was her new home now and she had every right to be herself within these lands.

P Y R A So they hadn’t disturbed her. Pyra relaxed. "Ah, glad to hear it," she said, chuckling softly. At the mare’s second remark, Pyra lifted her head, scanning the sea of greens and blues that danced lazily around them, teased by another gentle wave of wind. "It is beautiful out, isn’t it?" she agreed, drawing in a breath of the spring air through her nostrils. The brindle mare, in a bit of haste, introduced herself, suddenly seeming a bit more shy than before. A patient smile spread across Pyra’s muzzle. "Nouveau," she echoed, dipping her head, "Nice to meet you. I thought I recognized you from the gathering. I’m Pyra."She paused, eyeing the sweet grass at their feet. In utter nonchalance, she dipped her head, daring to bite off a clump to munch upon as she deliberated on what to say next. After a moment, she returned her gaze to Nouveau, her jaws still grinding some but not enough to garble her words. "Have you lived in Halcyon for long?" She was genuinely curious. How she would feel a pang of envy, knowing that others had known of this peaceful place long before she had, if that was the case!
Nouveau - Whoops, sorry for the wait! xD
